Before any re-grinding can begin, we test the crank shaft for defects and surface cracks using magnetic particle inspection equipment. We also test the shaft alignment. With the problem identified, the crank journals can be ground and polished to the next size available, within OEM tolerances, using specialist measuring equipment to ensure precision accuracy. We’re also able to reclaim steel crankshafts by submerged arc welding or metal spraying. Cranks can also be balanced or re-stroked.
